If there's an actor that epitomises the CG ethos, then surely it must be John Vernon. Spanning decades, few actors have given us such a wide range of films, spanning such a wide range of quality. To most people he's merely the Mayor in Dirty Harry, but to those of us with a passion for such things he's so much more than that. He rarely got the lead role, but he enhanced any film he appeared in. In many cases, he was the only thing worth watching.
