A sequel to the 1963 classic “SANTO VS. THE STRANGLER”, this film owes much to the American horror classic “PHANTOM OF THE OPERA”; a deformed maniac who was slain by the police returns to life with the aid of his ape-like assistant and haunts the caverns beneath an old theatre; using clever disguises, the Strangler lures his arch-foe SANTO into a number of deadly traps; the film moves at a mind-numbing pace that recalls the old Republic Pictures serials of the Forties; this film was long thought to be a lost film and is very probably the rarest of all the Santo movies!
