The word “Krimi” comes from the abbreviation of the world Kriminalroman (KriminalFilm) and as the giallo, it has became a sub-genre inside the thriller-horror movies with more than 150 titles. In this case, the style is more refined, so forget about gore, boobs, sleaze, nasty situations… but this is not necessarily a bad thing as the krimis have other goodies like great atmosphere, weird plots, bizarre murders, creepy castles and manors full of secret passages, mysterious and inventive villains whose identities are unknown until the end, plot twists…
Most of the krimis are cinema adaptations of the novels by the english writer Edgar Wallace [1875 - 1932] (He's not the only one who wrote these kinds of murder mysteries but he was the most influential). Although a lot of krimis have been filmed, the most acclaimed are the ones which were filmed from 1959 to 1972 (the Rialto Era). There were some directors who were specialized in the genre and who directed a lot of them like Alfred Voher or Harald Reinl.
If you've never seen any krimi or if you love them and want to collect them you'll have reasons to celebrate, as here for your viewing pleasure is The Official KRIMI PROJECT.
We would prefer DVD rips in high quality (most of the Krimis have been released on DVD) that included multiple languages (usually German and English) and optional english subtitles whenever possible.
Please, remember that the rips must have some english source ( audio channel or subtitles). If there's no english version available, you can download it, expecting that someone makes some subs, but cannot be added as part of the project.
If you think there's any krimi missing from the list and you can upload it, tell the mods (leave a message in the topic Krimi Project at the forums) and will be added.
