Spaghetti Western Project
Spaghetti Western is a nickname for a broad sub-genre of Western film that emerged in the mid-1960s, so named because most were produced by Italian studios. Originally they had in common the Italian language, low budgets, and a recognizable highly fluid, violent, and minimalist cinematography that eschewed (some said “demythologized”) many of the conventions of earlier Westerns — partly intentionally, partly as a result of the work being done in a different cultural background and with limited funds. The term was originally used disparagingly, but by the 1980s many of these films came to be held in high regard, particularly because it was hard to ignore the influence they had in redefining the entire idea of a western up to that point.
The best-known and perhaps archetypal Spaghetti Westerns were the so-called Man With No Name trilogy (or Dollars Trilogy) directed by Sergio Leone, starring the American then-TV actor Clint Eastwood and with musical scores composed by Ennio Morricone (all of whom are now synonymous with the genre): A Fistful of Dollars (1964), For a Few Dollars More (1965), and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966). Atypically for the genre, the latter had a relatively high budget in excess of one million USD. His following film after the so-called “trilogy” was Once Upon A Time In The West, which is often lumped in with the previous three for its extremely similar style and accompanying score by Morricone, only differing itself from the others by the absence of Clint Eastwood in the starring role.
Spaghetti Westerns all share some common stylistic features. They usually look grittier than their American counterparts, they don't look as glorious and “clean”. The subject matters are usually revenge, bounty hunting, or gang crime. Spaghetti Westerns usually can look from pretty cheap to extraordinarily high-budget, although the budget of Italian westerns were usually extremely low, that's why directors tried to exploit as much as possible, including interiors, stylistic filming devices (close-ups, cuts, etc.) or beautiful landscapes such as the sierras at Almería, Spain.
The Music in most Spaghetti Western is also different. Especially Ennio Morricone started introducing new instruments to the soundtrack, such as the electric guitar. Spaghetti Western soundtracks can be quite psychedelic, of epic sound or on the other hand, totally like an American western.

At this point, this Project's aim is not to be a complete spaghetti western filmography. That would be a pretty unrealistic task, as such a filmography would comprise of hundreds of spags spanning the mid 60's to mid 70's. Instead the project will hopefully both serve as a starting point for people new to the genre, and help spaghetti afficionados and completists get their hands on some hard to find spags.

Discussion
The list is by no means final (if such a thing can possibly exist when we're talking about spags), so feel free to add your own as you see fit.
I can up Faccia a Faccia, My Name is Trinity, Trinity is Still my Name and My Name is Nobody.
I can up companeros, Navajo Joe, Mannaja, Blindman, Django Against Sartana, Light the fuse….Sartana Is coming, I am Sartana, trade your Guns for a Coffin, Have a good funeral, my friend….Sartana will pay,Tempo di Massacro, A Bullet for the General, Run Man Run, Sabata, Adios Sabata, and a number of others that are not on that list
I have, on DVD, the following:
My Name is Nobody
A Genious, two Partners and a Dupe - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0073036/
They Call Me Trinity (English dub of My Name is Trinity)
Buddy Goes West - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082835/
If they are deemed safe I can rip them.
they would be safe, but i wouldn't consider buddy goes west as a spaghetti,
I can up My Name is Nobody foo bar, so get started on one of the others that way we can have them up faster. I haven't watched Buddy Goes West so I can't comment but you can up it anyways, project or no project.
oh btw if anyone's reading this and wonders which of the spags above to grab first, go for Keoma! I just watched it again, it gets better with every viewing. In my top4 of spags now :)
Keoma is awesome but the soundtrack annoys the piss out of me
yeah it gets pretty annoying after the gazillionth time the woman starts crooning. Then Franco Nero (probably drunk) joins in, and it gets worse. It would have been better had they used that score for 1-2 sequences, with Morricone handling the rest. It's still a solid 10/10 for me though…
I can put TRINITY IS STILL MY NAME up. Also have DUCK YOU SUCKER, but if I remember it is unsafe.
I've got Navajo Joe, but I haven't got the time to upload it at the moment. If it's still not there in a week, I will do it then.
By the way if anyone has a good quality dvd rip version of The Mercenary please up it. The version upped here is a TV rip, it needs upgrading…
i have a good dvd rip of mercenary i can up, after i get done seeding navajo joe
ok cool. looking forward to it.
Btw I added a couple of titles to the list.
I added “Ballad of Death Valley AKA Sartana in the Valley of Death” w/ William Berger. Enjoy!
Also added “Greatest Train Robbery in the West”. I don't always have the greatest connection, so please be patient. I'll make sure they get seeded. I'll add them to the list above when they are. Enjoy!
Added 20000 on 7, The Dirty Outlaws. Enjoy.
Uploaded Shalako, a Eurowestern with Sean Connery and Bridgette Bardot. Enjoy.
Updated They Call him Holy Ghost with the upgrade.
I've uploaded God Made Them, I Kill Them AKA His Life is Mine (tv/vhs), I think it's okay to add this to the project? I've updated the wiki, that's my first so maybe someone can check if I didn't mess up anything.
