Deep-sixed for nearly 25 years, this godless home movie has risen from it's long hibernation and the world will never be the same again. Fred Olen Ray began his undistinguished schlock film career with this threadbare sci-fi/horror project. As bad as his roster of titles is, there's no argument that he became 100% better as a film maker after this thing. The story combines elements of “Night of the Living Dead”, “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”, and a lot of kitsch 50s monster flicks. Bugs from another planet have taken residence on Earth, and are using mind control to make zombies out of citizens(we know who they are because they have sunglasses on). Their leader is a hand puppet that resembles a turd with glowing eyes, and it's minions are large rubber ants(yes…the kind you buy from novelty vending machines for a quarter) The evil plans of these creatures is thwarted in the end(I'm really not even sure how, but something exploded)

Boiling over with inappropriate “borrowed” classical music, this badly shot(in B/W)mini-feature is so officially a home movie that you'd swear the next scene would be of some moonfaced family enjoying an afternoon at Yosemite National Park. “The Brain Leeches” is very difficult to endure, so be sure to have a can of Sterno handy. Chug-A-lug, and have fun watching the “REAL” worst film of all time!
