Jess Franco Project

Welcome to the project devoted to that most copious maestro of sleaze, Jess Franco. (Or should we call him Clifford Brown, or David Khune, or maybe Lulu Laverne…it seems that the man had as many nom de plumes as he had films). Yet it would be a disservice to the sheer magnitude of Franco's oeuvre to pigeonhole him into the lustful realm of sexploitation. Franco's films fluctuate wildly from eurospy knock-offs and atmospheric eroticized horror renditions to more traditional thrillers and comedies. Though, to be sure, this is by no means to downplay the contributions that have made Franco most (in)famous…mining nearly every subgenre of exploitation cinema from nunsploitation and women in prison flicks to cannibal- and nazisploitation, not to mention a meaty handful of flicks based on the sick shit written by the equally infamous Marquis de Sade, Franco has established himself as an exploitation legend, which is to say nothing of him bringing such stunning starlets to light as Maria Rohm, Soledad Miranda, and of course Lina Romay.

Not merely directing, but often writing, scoring, and at times, performing in his films, Franco's films vary widely in quality from fairly decent-budgeted (for Franco, anyway) productions, to DV quickies. The facts that, as mentioned, Franco often directed under the guise of a wide array of pseudonyms, often times shot more than one film at a time (averaging a stunning four films a year for a period of 50 years), and often had a slew of different cuts and recuts released in different countries, all make compiling Franco's directorial oeuvre a trying task indeed. So if by chance you notice any gaps in the list below, by all means please feel free to fix it as you wish. Remember a wiki is collaborative by nature, so the success of this projects depends on your–yes, you the one reading this shit–contributions.

If you see any Franco flicks on the site that haven't been added to this wiki, any incorrect links, or anything else, please edit it yourself and correct the errors. If you see a film listed which has [NS] listed in the Notes field, it means the film has no English audio track and no English subs. If you can find an English version, or even make custom fansubs, your work will surely be rewarded. And of course most importantly of all: if you have any Franco films not yet here, please upload them!

If, however, the films have any hardcore scenes (scenes where shots of penetration are shown on the screen), please get them approved first in the Customs & Excise area of the forums. In other words if you can see cock entering cunt (or arse) on-screen, you need to first post about the film in the Customs forum to explain why it's more than just porn (ie. that it's a Franco masterpiece with at least some semblance of a story), to try to get the film approved prior to uploading.

Titles that have a * next to them are available on T3 or TPB but not on CG (with their links pointing to their respective off-site torrents).

The *'ed titles have neither been added to the 'uploaded' count nor subtracted them from the total count, so for the purposes of the project the *'ed links have no effect by themselves.

What people should now do (that is if the title is a hardcore flick) is make a case for the *'ed film in the Customs forum. If the film is safed, then the upload will effect the uploaded/remaining counts as normal. If it is unsafed, then the title will be omitted from the project (though not from the wiki list, rather just put brackets around the title to mark its omission), and thus the Total Films/Remaining counts will be downgraded appropriately. And of course if the *'ed title either isn't a hardcore title or you have a non-hardcore version of that title, then you can upload it right away and replace the off-site link with the local CG link here on the wiki.
